The Plain of Six Glaciers trail at Lake Louise begins at the stunning Lake Louise and follows the trail to the back side of the lake. Following the signs, you begin to ascent a moderately steep incline as you head up the mountain. There is no technical terrain, but is is a somewhat longer hike. Approximately 5.8 kilometers into the hike you will reach the Plain of Six Glaciers Teahouse where you can go get a drink or grab a hike before continuing the trek up to the viewpoint. At the trails end - per the name of the hike - you will be able to see six distinct glaciers: Upper Victoria Glacier, Lower Victoria Glacier, Upper Lefroy Glacier, Lower Lefroy Glacier, Aberdeen Glacier, and Pope Glacier.

The parking situation at Lake Louise can be tough, so it is recommended to take either a shuttle or the Roam 8X bus from Banff. Parking spots fill up early in the morning at the lakeshore, so if you would like to take your personal vehicle you must arrive early and expect to pay $42 for daily parking.
