Upper Kananaskis Lake Trail is a long, but stunning trail that takes you all the way around Upper Kananaskis Lake. The trail offers numerous stunning views of the landscape, from mountains to lakes, waterfalls, creeks, and rockslides. If you are looking for a day trip, there are many benches and picnic tables along the way, including some found at Point Campground - a backcountry campground you will pass along the way.
Make sure to check for closures as this trail frequently has closed sections due to bear activity. We have spotted at least one bear (black or grizzly) every time we have been to this area.
This trail gets very busy, so it is heavily recommended to arrive early.
Some photos here are from my HPED 1070 camping trip with Mount Royal University.
