Cat Creek Waterfall has a bit of everything. The trail heads uphill to some pretty cool mountain views, then proceeds along an old mining trail with informational plaques and old mining huts, finally ending with a waterfall. The base of the waterfall is also very deep, allowing dogs to be able to swim in the water next to the falls, or you can jump in there as well for a sort of cold plunge.
This trail can get quite busy in the summer months, so it is recommended to go early in the morning.
This hike is along the seasonal closure section of highway 40, so from December 1 - June 15 the trailhead is only accessible via biking or hiking in.
