Blackshale Suspension Bridge is a very unique and short trail off the Smith-Dorrien Highway that takes you up to a suspension bridge with fantastic mountain views. You park on the side of the gravel highway and head up a moderately steep but short trail until you reach the bridge. It is a loop trail, so you are able to descent back to the parking lot after you cross the bridge from either direction. There are wooden planks under the thin metal grates of the bridge making it way more pet friendly than a typical suspension bridge.
The suspension bridge does close often in the winter when snowfall levels are very high.
