Sulphur Mountain is a very popular, but very scenic hike in Banff. At the parking lot you have the option to buy Gondola tickets to ride up the mountain (recommended to purchase well ahead of time so it doesn't sell out), or take the long and steep hike up the mountain. The trail is mainly switchbacks as you ascent the mountain. There is a waterfall offshoot viewpoint trail around two kilometers up the mountain. Once at the top you are greeted with spectacular 360° views of the mountain range and town of Banff. There is a cafeteria and sit-down restaurant inside the building at the top. Once you explore the main section of the peak, follow the trail over to the Sulphur Mountain Cosmic Ray Station.

This is an amazing trail and a highly recommended hike, although it does get very busy very quick, so head to the trailhead early. If you are looking to park at the trailhead, expect to pay $17.50 for the day, or alternatively take the Roam Transit Bus or a shuttle if you are looking to pay less.
